THE ARTIST
As the daughter of a celebrated artist, Shannon's painted, sketched, built, and glued her entire life. Her love of art and all things creative naturally led her to earning a BFA in Fine Art from the University of North Texas..
After graduating, she spent many years as a successful creative director and graphic designer at some of the biggest shops in Dallas. Her ability to create unique, clear, and consistent visual vocabularies for her clients is renowned, and most exemplified in her brand development work with restaurants and restaurant groups.
Now, Shannon is taking her creativity and skills in a different direction - testing her own boundaries and dipping her toes in the world of fine art.
Shannon lives in East Dallas with her husband, son, and two pups. She is a creative seeker, lover of color, and constant mess maker.
THE ART
A free-flowing composition of intricate layers, this multimedia series uses light, texture, and form to tell compelling and playful stories. Bursts of monochromatic linear shapes in ink are perfectly juxtaposed to the wild and vibrant organic forms created with Brusho, acrylics, pastels, and alcohol. Hand-painted Mulberry strips and acrylic monotypes lead the eye through fields of vibrant color in an explosive journey into the world of black, white, and everything in between.
